Safe Place Expansion Right on Track
The Crisis Center's Safe Place program is expanding to Porter County in due time.
We're pleased to announce that we have already secured four sites in Portage with many more to come.
The partnership with the Family Youth Service Bureau in Valparaiso (the official Porter County Youth Service Bureau) demonstrates the awareness and need of services in Portage.
Safe Place intends on helping make the "Port of Opportunity" -Portage an even safer place.

Each year, compassionate & dedicated individuals and businesses contribute to our holiday wish list for the youth at our emergency shelter -The Alternative House
Many of these youth, ages 6-18, do not leave during the holidays. They remain in our shelter and usually experience sadness and loneliness during the holidays.
That's why we need your help.

Keeping Area Seniors Warm
Northwest Indiana's senior citizens an important and a very loved sector of our population.
However, many still need that extra check-up once in a while.
That's where our Reassurance Contact program steps in.
You can sign up a senior citizen anytime, free, to receive weekly wellness check phone calls.
Our professional staff and volunteers contact seniors to make sure their heat is working among other checks.

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
